This autumn break is not meant for sitting about, but for moving around, trying new things and working together. Get hands-on from October 17 to 25! You will discover how traditional crafts dating back thousands of years can still surprise you. What would happen if we, say, made it bigger?
Take a seat together at a oversized loom and discover how you can only operate it by working together closely. Or how about felting a enormous woollen rug?

Ancient crafts, brand new ideas!
You will journey through time for sure. Starting at prehistoric times all the way up to present day, you will discover how people lived, worked, and invented new things.
Be sure to get your hands dirty as you meet craftsmen from various periods and discover how these old techniques still lead to new ideas. There's plenty to see and even more to do!
New show premieres
This autumn break, a new show will premiere in the theatre in our Garden of Wonder. This interactive show is called Lumineus Inventorium and it features inventions from different time periods. Perhaps you might even get to join!
The show will be performed daily at 12:00 and at 15:00.
October 24th & 25th: Dutch Design Origins
The final weekend of the autumn break, you can discover the origins of Dutch Design. What do modermn designers learn from traditional crafts? And what happens when you combine these traditional techniques with modern materials and ideas?
Enter the world of traditional crafts and meet special artisans who use their hands to make the most wonderful creations. From a cheesemaker, jewelry maker, and instrument maker to a woodturner and blacksmith. You can even discover how tin, silver, and aluminum are cast.
