What is VONK?
Museumpark VONK is a hands-on historical museum where you experience the past yourself. It builds on the foundations of preHistorisch Dorp and Eindhoven Museum, bringing 10,000 years of regional history together in one inspiring place.
At Museumpark VONK, history comes to life through stories, activities, workshops and discoveries. You don’t just learn about history — you experience it.
What stays the same
Everything you know and love from the preHistorisch Dorp remains. Your hands gliding through the cool water as you paddle a canoe. The smell of a crackling fire. The warmth of a freshly baked roll in your hands. None of that will change. Just like the historical buildings, residents, crafts, and activities. You will find them in the World of Experience, where you can step into history and experience it yourself.
What is changing
Everything that is already here will remain, but there is much more to discover. Perhaps you have seen the new museum building on the Boutenslaan? Inside, you will find an introduction show, an exhibition, and a workshop where you can actively take part in history.
In the exhibition, you will discover objects from the collection of the former Eindhoven Museum, many of which were previously kept in storage.
There is always something new to experience at VONK.
Experience history
In the workshop, you yourself will become part of the story. You sketch, experiment, and create using your own hands. The workshop is made up of different zones. You might help develop a new vonk, observe the work of vocational students and volunteers, or roll up your sleeves yourself.
A designer creates the bigger idea, and you help bring it to life. The impressive installation you help build will become part of the Garden of Wonder. Your work will leave a lasting trace and become part of its story.

Open all year round
VONK is open all year round. While the former preHistorisch Dorp was open from April to October, you can now visit us throughout the year — both indoors and outdoors.
And who knows… something special might be happening this winter.
