Pillory

Stand before the pole and stick your head and your hands through the holes. Someone else can toss the felted fruit from the basket at you. In the olden days, real rotten fruit would be used as part of the punishment.

Pillories were used at medieval markets to expose criminals to public contempt. Nowadays, the verb to pillory still means to criticize and to put to shame.
