Medieval crafts
Educational module

About 800 years ago, the world was full of crafts. Farmers, blacksmiths, and bakers, everyone had their own trade and a clear place in the community.
Get to know the craftsmanship of the Middle Ages. A museum educator welcomes the class in the medieval area of our park. Students discover how people used to work and get hands-on experience with historical techniques and materials. Think of making candles, twisting rope, writing with a quill, weaving, or braiding.
By observing, doing, and trying things themselves, they experience how much knowledge and skill lies behind objects that once were part of everyday life.
The exact activities depend on the day’s programme and the group, but the focus is always on experiencing medieval craftsmanship.
