Crafts for Masters

Educational program

About 800 years ago, the world was full of crafts. Farmers, blacksmiths, and bakers, everyone had their own trade and a clear place within the community. Anyone who wanted to learn a profession started as an apprentice. You learned by watching, by doing, and above all by trying it yourself. Step by step, you progressed until you could demonstrate true mastery of the craft and become a master yourself.

Medieval life

In this educational programme, students step back into the world of medieval craftsmanship.

They discover how people used to work and live, and get hands-on experience with traditional techniques and materials.

In this way, they experience what it feels like to make things with your hands, to collaborate, and to discover how much skill lies behind seemingly everyday objects.
